Ametrine, also known as trystine or by its trade name as bolivianite, is a naturally occurring variety of quartz. It is a mixture of amethyst and citrine with zones of purple and yellow or orange. Almost all commercially available ametrine is mined only in Bolivia. What a great combination of gorgeous colors!!
Ametrine is a mixture of Amethyst and Citrine, both varieties of quartz crystal. It carries the energy of both of these stones and is a harmonious blend of their energies.
This lovely stone embodies the energy of the above crystals, to enhance mental and spiritual clarity while uniting masculine and feminine energies.
Ametrine calms the mind by clearing stress, cloudiness, and tension from the head. It also balances and soothes emotions and relieves depression. Ametrine overcomes prejudice by enhancing compatibility and unconditional acceptance of others. It stimulates creativity and supports taking control of one’s own life.
As a caution for gem collectors, most ametrine in the low price segment can be assumed to stem from synthetic material. Since 1994, a Russian laboratory has perfected the industrial production of bicolored quartz crystals that are later irradiated to bring out the typical ametrine colors. Green-yellow or golden-blue ametrine does not exist naturally. However, this one in the picture is a naturally occurring combination.
