Baselworld has canceled the 2020 edition of their premier show after the swiss government put a ban on large gatherings. The show has now been postponed to Jan 28 – Feb 2, 2021.
The Swiss Federal Council put a ban on all large scale events with 1000 or more people at least until March 15. The council said in a statement that “it is responding to the latest development in the coronavirus epidemic and has categorized the situation in Switzerland as ‘special’ in terms if the Epidemics Act”
Baselworld 2020 was scheduled for April 30-May 5 and expected to draw over 82000 people at the event.
