65th Bangkok Gem and Jewelry Show 2020 ends on a lukewarm response from buyers and visitors

Despite all events being canceled due to the coronavirus covid-19 scare all around the globe, the 65th edition of the Bangkok Gem and Jewelry show went ahead offering some relief to the exhibitors. The show was held from 25-29th February 2020.

The 65th edition of the show featured 994 companies exhibiting their goods over 2086 booths which represented a 10% increase over the 2019 February edition of the show.

The trade days of the show welcomed over 7000 visitors, half of whom were from overseas visitors. Overall the show welcomed around 10000 visitors.

The Bangkok Jewelry show has for some time been welcoming visitors from neighboring countries of Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and also from the middle eastern regions of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Iran. Many visitors who are not getting a visa to Hong Kong make it a point to visit the Bangkok show to do their buying.

Apart from the local exhibitors, the other exhibitors were from Hong Kong, China, Myanmar, Cambodia, Japan. While some exhibitors expressed satisfaction with the show organization, many were heard complaining that this was probably one of the slowest shows in terms of visitors, which they had seen over the recent years.

Amongst the few bright spots at the 65th BGJF were the new and upcoming designers. The design displays were truly unique and presented a showcase of what is to be expected in terms of future jewelry trends.

The next edition of the show is scheduled to be held from September 7-11, 2020
